Privacy: who can see my data?
The privacy story of visualOS is unusually easy to tell, because the architecture does the talking: your data has no route to us.

Where your content lives
On your device, and — if you connect one — in a folder you chose. That’s the complete list. There is no visualOS server storing, processing or “improving the experience with” your canvases. We couldn’t look at your notes if we wanted to: they never reach us.
No account, by design
You’ve maybe noticed there’s nothing to sign up for. No account means no email address, no password database, no profile to breach. The app doesn’t know who you are, and that’s the intended state of affairs.
What about sync?
Sync runs through your own cloud storage — iCloud Drive, Dropbox, whatever you point the folder at. The privacy of synced data is therefore exactly the privacy of your cloud account: visualOS adds no middleman. Prefer zero cloud? Keep the folder purely local — sync is optional, not required.
Network connections the app makes
- Loading the app itself (browser version, first load).
- Fetching rich link previews when you add a platform URL — a request to that platform for title and thumbnail, which is then stored locally.
That’s the honest list. No telemetry of your content, no ad networks, no third-party analytics scripts in the app.
The legal privacy policy lives at visualos.app/privacy — shorter than most, for the reasons above.
