Workspaces
A workspace is a completely separate world: its own canvas tree, its own storage, its own (optional) connected folder. Switch between them from the breadcrumb bar.

Why multiple workspaces?
- Separation: personal vs. work, or one workspace per big client — different folders, zero mixing.
- Different sync targets: each workspace can connect its own folder — one syncs via your private iCloud, another via the studio’s Dropbox.
- Shared folders: point a workspace at a folder someone shares with you, and keep it cleanly apart from your own canvas.
Creating and switching
- Click the workspace name
It’s the first crumb in the breadcrumb bar (with the colored dot). The switcher lists all workspaces. Settings → Folder & Workspace works too.
- “+ Create a new Workspace”
Name it, pick an identity color — the dot that will mark it everywhere.
- Switch anytime
Pick a workspace from the switcher. Your current state is saved, the app reloads cleanly into the other world. (The reload is deliberate: workspaces share nothing, not even a running state.)
Each workspace then connects its own folder in Settings → Folder & Workspace.
Deleting a workspace
Via the workspace’s edit dialog — with double confirmation. Important nuance: deleting a workspace never touches its folder on disk; it only removes the workspace from the app. If the workspace has no folder, its content exists only in the app — so visualOS makes you type the workspace’s name before it will delete for good.
For topics within your life, plain folders are usually right — search and navigation work across them. Reach for workspaces when you need hard separation or different sync folders.
