Search everywhere

The endless canvas needs a teleporter. Search looks through everything, in every folder, and lands you directly on the element — selected, centered, zoomed.

Using search

  1. Press Cmd/Ctrl+F

Or click the magnifier in the top bar — it’s there on iPhone and iPad, too.

  2. Type a few letters

Results appear as you type — case-insensitive, across all folders of the workspace, not just the one you’re in.

  3. Click a result

visualOS navigates to that folder and animates to the element, selecting it so you can’t miss it.

What’s searched

Practically all text your elements carry: note and text content, element names and folder titles, document titles, to-do tasks, link titles and URLs, image captions. Every result shows its folder path, so you see the where along with the what.

What it’s really for

  • Retrieval: “I wrote that idea down three weeks ago” — type two words from it, done. This is why writing things down on the canvas is safe: nothing is ever lost to structure.
  • Navigation: often faster than clicking through levels — search the folder’s name and jump.
  • Loose ends: search a client’s name to sweep every mention across all projects.
Scope

Search covers the current workspace. Other workspaces have their own canvas — switch first to search there.

Didn’t find what you need?

Tell us what’s missing — feature ideas and bug reports land directly on our roadmap. Or just open the canvas and poke around; you can’t break anything.
