Text
Text elements are words without a card: headlines over a section of your canvas, captions under a cluster, labels on a diagram.

Creating text
Press T, click the canvas, type. That’s it — the text sits directly on the background with no fill or border.
Formatting
Editing works exactly like in notes: double-click to edit, format bar with size, color, bold/italic/underline, lists and alignment. Two text-specific niceties:
- Auto-contrast: on a dark canvas background, default-colored text automatically flips to light so it stays readable.
- Rotation: text can be rotated — select it and use the rotation handle, or hold Cmd/Ctrl while dragging. See Group, lock & rotate.
Text vs. note — which one?
| Use a… | When |
|---|---|
| Text | Structure and labels: section headings, annotations, a big title over an area. Content that describes the canvas. |
| Note | Content itself: an idea, a thought, a snippet — something that benefits from a colored card around it. |
Canvas zones
A large text heading + a few elements underneath, then lock the heading: instant, tidy “zones” on your canvas without drawing a single box.
