Getting Started
The interactive welcome tour
On first launch, visualOS offers a short hands-on tour: connect a folder, create your first folder and note, and learn the canvas — by actually doing it.

What the tour covers
The tour is interactive — instead of slides, it waits while you do each step and moves on automatically:
- Connecting a folder, so your work is saved as real files from minute one (skipped on browsers that don’t support it).
- Creating and naming a folder, then opening it — the core of how visualOS organizes everything.
- Writing your first note.
- Quick pointers to the Draw tool, the breadcrumbs and search.
It takes about two minutes, and every step can be skipped — the tour never blocks your input, and each card has a close button.
Restarting the tour
Open Settings (gear icon; ⋮ menu on iPhone/iPad) and click “Show welcome tour” at the bottom. The tour starts fresh, no matter how long you’ve been using the app.
The example content
If you skip the tour on a brand-new canvas, visualOS seeds a tiny example — a welcome note with the most important shortcuts and an “Example folder” — so you’re never staring at a blank void. Feel free to delete both; they’re ordinary elements.
The tour is a nice way to hand visualOS to a colleague or family member: restart it from Settings and let them do the five steps themselves.
